Provost Bariatrics provides comprehensive care for patients undergoing surgical therapy for the treatment of obesity.  Dr. David Provost has practiced bariatric surgery for nearly 20 years, during which time he has taught surgical techniques to hundreds of doctors and helped thousands of patients find a new lease on life through weight loss surgery.

Provost Bariatrics offers laparoscopic primary and revisional weight loss surgery procedures (including gastric bypass and Lap-Band® surgery), endoscopic pouch reduction (Stomaphyx™), and the management of complications and failures of prior weight loss operations (revisional surgery).

Dr. Provost pioneered the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass in Texas, first performing the procedure in 1999, and has also performed the Lap-Band® procedure (laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding) since 2001, the year of Lap-Band approval by the FDA. In addition, he is recognized as one of the leading practitioners of revisional bariatric surgery for patients who experience post-surgery complications or weight regain following a prior weight loss surgery procedure.

Provost Bariatrics serves weight loss surgery patients from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and across the country. The center coordinates complete, multidisciplinary care for the obesity surgery patient, including nutritional, psychological, and rehabilitative care, and also sponsors regular support groups for pre- and post-operative patients.
